Good Growth was co-founded by a prize-winning thought leader in organisation development, leadership and change and an entrepreneur with a track record in transforming sales effectiveness. They are supported by an experienced team that delivers the Good Growth proposition.

Professor Chris Bones

Chris Bones is the Chairman of Good Growth and the lead for our strategy work.

Chris developed the Customer to Action® model and, as an organisation and change strategist with a global commercial brand background, he advises clients on strategic implementation, change and organisation alignment. After working in energy, brewing and retail, Chris had a global career in FMCG with senior HR roles in Diageo and Cadbury Schweppes.

James Hammersley

James Hammersley is CEO of Good Growth

James founded Good Growth and is co-author of the book ‘Leading Digital Strategy’. James is responsible for ensuring all clients grow their businesses through working with Good Growth. James has expertise across Digital Strategy, CRM and CRO and has had the privilege of working with some of the largest and most successful UK and global brands.

Dr Nick Shaw

Nick Shaw is Chief Operating Officer for Good Growth and is responsible for both the Optimisation and Digital Marketing practices.

He is responsible for all aspects of client engagement and successful project delivery. Nick manages the project delivery teams who are based in our Exeter offices and is the prime point of contact for day-to-day client communication and digital enquiries. Nick has over 10 years of experience of leading and helping a variety of organisations improve their sales effectiveness and innovation performance.

Matt Abbott

Matt is one of our Client Managers, responsible for project managing our client engagements and fronting client communications.

Prior to joining Good Growth, Matt was Founder & Managing Director of a disability sports company. He previously worked as Student Activities Manager at the University of Suffolk Students’ Union. Matt graduated from Coventry University with a master’s degree in Sports Management and undergrad degree in Forensic Investigation.

Adele Armand

Adele is Good Growth’s Office Manager and is responsible for Business Support and Facilities Management.

Adele has over 25 years’ Office Management/PA/Project Management experience gained through working in organisations and environments of differing sizes in South Africa, Zimbabwe and the UK. More recently she was integrally involved in the software development for Retirement Village Administration and Project Management which has been successfully implemented. Adele will be using her wealth of experience in Office Management and Administration with the team at Good Growth.

Hamish Bones

Hamish Bones is Good Growth’s Director of New Account Development. He is responsible for identifying and engaging and building relationships as a key brand ambassador for Good Growth.

Formally the Head of Optimisation for the past four years he led on client engagements working with The Economist, The Spectator, The Guardian, GAME PLC, M&Co and Regus. Hamish started his career with PespiCo UK in Sales Development supporting the distribution and market share growth of three of their key brands. He has considerable expertise in managing customer relationships spanning the retail, media and publishing, travel and tourism industries. Hamish graduated with a first-class honours degree from Strathclyde University with a bachelor’s degree in management.

Rebecca Brennan

Rebecca is a Client Manager for our Optimisation team, focusing on project management and client communications.

Before joining Good Growth, she worked at the University of Exeter in Student Services, on the Information helpdesk to support students and university staff focusing on troubleshooting. She also developed and managed the student staff members in training and daily performance. Rebecca is currently learning Spanish. She graduated from Cardiff University with a BScEcon in Criminology, taking a particular interest in criminal psychology.
 

David Bushell

David is our Senior Digital Marketing Associate with considerable experience in traffic, pay-per-click marketing and conversion rate optimisation.

For over 10 years, he has managed Google AdWords campaigns and provided strategic online marketing consultancy across Google certification, PPC, SEO, PR, affiliate, email and banner advertising to a variety of successful SMEs; and household names including Tesco, Yale, EDF and Burberry. David uses his experience to provide online marketing consultancy, looking more broadly at how businesses can maximise visitor value and minimise cost per acquisition. David graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management from University College London.

Dave Cannell

Dave Cannell is an Account Director, primarily overseeing our Strategy clients. In this role, he is responsible for the success of client engagements, project delivery and reporting across stakeholders.

Prior to joining us, Dave has worked for both Google and Optimizely, the world’s top split-testing platform, as well as having experience of launching a new digital platform into an international market. Dave graduated from the University of Surrey with a “Tonmeister” Music and Sound Engineering degree and still enjoys writing and recording music.

Nicky Cunningham

Nicky Cunningham is an Account Director at Good Growth and is responsible for leading strategic engagement and commercial strategy delivery for clients across optimisation, digital marketing and strategy services.

Nicky has extensive experience of collaborative working across a range of sectors, including the waste, water, chemicals and food and drink industries. She has advised MPs, Ministers and the House of Lords on the impact of regulation on business. She is a trained coach and qualified in Lean/6 Sigma business improvement.

Nicky graduated with a first class degree in Oceanography and Chemistry from Southampton University and has a Masters degree in Ecotoxicology and Pollution Monitoring.

Tom Deakin

Tom supports our marketing and sales team in the production of content and is responsible for Good Growth’s online performance benchmarking tool.

He has worked for a number of large charities in the South West including the Eden Project and the Cornwall Food Foundation. During the 2010-2015 coalition Government, Tom worked for a Member of Parliament and was a part of their 2015 general election campaign. He is currently studying for a BSc in Economics and Politics at the University of Exeter.

Michael Duke

Michael is Head of Analytics. He is responsible for analytics, data and research on client projects across all four business areas.

Under his leadership, Good Growth has achieved partner status with Optimizely and Qubit. He ensures the rigour and accuracy of the data that underpin our insights. Before joining Good Growth, Michael was a professional scientist working in both veterinary haematology and applied genetics. Michael graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southampton.

Matt Evans

Matt is part of our Research and Analytics team, responsible for the gathering and analysis of client data, to produce insight and improve client performance.

Matt graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Plymouth University. He has a strong background in scientific subjects and studied modules such as Quantum and Classical Mechanics, Relativity and Electrodynamics. This scientific experience ensures the highest standard and accuracy of his analysis and reporting of data.

Jonathan Gedye

Johnny is our Senior Digital Marketing Manager. He is responsible for the delivery and management of digital marketing campaigns for Good Growth clients.

He has worked in digital marketing since 2009 and specialises in Search Engine Optimisation and Paid Search. As a Senior Account Manager in the industry Johnny has worked on large B2C and B2B accounts internationally across many different business sectors. Responsible for our Engagement to Action™ process, it is Johnny’s role to ensure that all our digital marketing clients get the maximum possible return for their investments.

Leah Holland

Leah is a member of our research and analytics team responsible for gathering and analysis of data to reinforce our insight. 

Leah graduated with a master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Bath. Throughout her education, she studied a variety of modules including financial and actuarial mathematics, statistical modelling and differential geometry. Her experience and rigour means she brings a high level of attention to detail and precision to customer activity.

Dan Kendall

Dan is a Client Manager within our Strategy and Optimisation team with a focus on project management and client communications.

He supports our CRM and Strategy clients and administers our organisation transformation programmes. Before joining Good Growth, he worked at the University of Exeter in Education and Student Experience acting as support for students and staff. He studied Geography at the University of Plymouth.

Oliver Mack

Oliver is Senior Programme Director for the organisation effectiveness programmes we run and has been working in change and transformation all his working life…and some.

His interest in understanding effective leadership and innovation began during his university career when he joined the student organisation AIESEC. Not content with becoming the President of the UK chapter, Oliver was elected the President of AIESEC International in 1993 and spent a year working in Brussels leading a multinational team across 70 countries at the age of 21. Oliver graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Manchester.

 

 

Annaliese Mason

Annaliese is part of our Digital Marketing team where she is responsible for supporting Good Growth clients’ digital marketing campaigns.

Prior to joining the Good Growth team, Annaliese worked for a creative design agency and supported the client team in delivering high quality campaigns. She graduated from the University of Plymouth with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and brings a wealth of enthusiasm and energy to her role at Good Growth.

Jane Upton

Jane Upton leads our Coaching practice as part of the Strategy team.

Since 1998 Jane has been working as an executive coach and consultant. Her clients are senior executives and leadership teams of international organisations and the focus of her work with them is on developing their leadership styles, confronting new challenges and leading through significant periods of change. Prior to that Jane spent over 15 years as a successful HR professional in international organisations. She is fluent in Spanish. She also participates with a number of business schools in training coaches (Henley Business School, UK; Instituto de Empresa, Spain, Universidad de Francisco de Vitoria, Spain).

 

Phil Wade

Phil is Senior Digital Marketing Manager for Good Growth, responsible for client’s digital strategy and campaign ROI.

Having worked both in-house and agency roles Phil brings considerable and varied experience to our digital marketing team. This includes leading digital strategy for a variety of successful SMEs; and household names including Nectar, Pukka Herbs, Direct Line and PwC. He studied at Swansea University and retains a marketing diploma from the CIM.

David Watkins

David is a Research and Analytics team member, he is responsible for gathering and analysing data to generate our insight.

David graduated from Swansea University with a first class masters degree in Mathematics. Throughout his education, he studied various modules including Analysis, Vector Calculus, Topology and Mathematical Modelling, including research into the mathematical theories behind the game of Billiards. His experience means he has a keen eye for noticing the patterns in data and reporting mathematical analysis to the highest standard.

George Woofenden

George is part of our Research and Analytics team where he collates and analysis data that form our hypothesis’.

George graduated with a master’s degree in Applied Geophysics from ETH Zurich, TU Delft and RWTH Aachen. Previous to this George graduated with a Physics bachelor’s degree from Cardiff University. With an education deeply rooted in science, George’s analytical, logical and problem-solving skills are fully flexed at Good Growth. Originally from the Exeter area, at the weekend George can be found on the rugby pitch or exploring the South West’s coast.

Sarah Znideric

Sarah Znideric is an Account Director at Good Growth and is responsible for the development and delivery of digital products and services, as well as leading key client engagement and strategy.

Sarah graduated from Bournemouth University in 2004 with a degree in Communication and has spent the last thirteen years in agency roles leading client engagement and managing digital teams. She has worked with some of the UK’s leading brands spanning retail, finance, professional services, travel and FMCG to oversee the delivery of digital services including search, social, paid media and optimisation. Sarah also has a keen interest in startups and has played a key role in the development, launch and growth of a number of online platforms and apps.
