What part of your job do you find the most satisfying?

Beyond working with an incredible team, the most satisfying part of my job is witnessing the positive impact our work has on our clients’ growth and success. It’s incredibly rewarding.

What’s one change you’ve seen in yourself since working at Good Growth?

After 8+ years since joining Good Growth, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my ability to collaborate effectively within a team, leading to more innovative and successful project outcomes. Given the large changes at Good Growth, following our acquisition of Amigo Technology – it’s been super important to make sure that we collaborate effectively together.

What project are you working on right now, and what excites you about it?

Currently, I’m immersed in a really exciting data and tech problem for a US retailer. It involves quite a bit of international travel, eating BBQ food, meeting incredible people, and working together to drive change and innovation within a complex environment.

“Travelling to see clients is one of my favourite parts of being at Good Growth. I’ve spent some time in Nashville recently for some workshops – what a place!”

Describe a moment when you felt really proud to be part of the Good Growth team.

During the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic we launched the Heinz to Home DTC site, working with Heinz in the UK – it was an incredibly fast-paced project, from conception to launch in just 3 weeks. Many, many late nights, but totally worth it on day 1 when sales went absolutely bananas!

How do you navigate differences of opinion in a team setting?

Open communication is absolutely key – for projects I’m managing I want people to feel empowered to challenge the status quo and reach a consensus on next steps that benefit the project as a whole.

What’s one skill or hobby you’re currently trying to develop?

I paint miniatures in my spare time, so that’s something I spend quite a lot of time on and it helps me to recharge after a long day at work. I’m also trying to learn how to do a bit of woodwork – currently trying to make a beehive for a local community project, but the reality is I’ll probably need someone to give me some help soon…!

Johnny’s exemplary work as Account Director saw him named as January’s ‘Good Growth Game Changer’.

What does success mean to you personally?

Personally, success means achieving goals that are meaningful to me while maintaining balance in all aspects of life, including professional, personal, and emotional well-being.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever attended?

I think perhaps one of the early concerts I went to, like Idlewild back in 2002. I was going through a fairly tricky point in my life at that point and watching them was probably one of the best moments during some bad times. There have been many more concerts though! It’s hard to pick a favourite.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

As someone who is big into their history, that’s a tough question! I think probably someone like Gandhi, Nelson Mandela or someone who stood up for something they believe in.

How do you recharge after a busy period at work?

Spending time with the kids, trying to get an early night, listening to music and watching films are my go-to relaxation tools!
